Maureen Kelly obtained her B.S. in Nursing at the University of Virginia and M.S. in Nursing from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, followed by a post-master’s pediatric nurse practitioner certificate at UNC-Chapel Hill. She has a joint appointment as an assistant professor at the School of Nursing, UNC-Chapel Hill and is a pediatric nurse practitioner at UNC-CH Hospitals in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Gastroenterology.

Currently, she is the chair of the National Nurse and Advanced Practice Provider Committee for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). She is a member of the National Scientific Advisory Committee of the CCFA, a member of the National CCFA Pediatric Affairs Committee, a member of the CCFA Triangle Leadership Board, and a member of the CCFA Raleigh/Durham Missions Committee of the Carolinas.
She treats pediatric patients with all types of gastrointestinal disease, with a clinical area of interest in caring for the pediatric patient with inflammatory bowel disease.
